About Us

Zeta Controls Ltd was formed in January 1989 as a spin out from Oxford University. The company is privately owned by its two founder Director/Shareholders who each own 50% of the share capital. Paul Tyrrell is the Technical Director and Philip Shadbolt is the Commercial Director.

Zeta operates from large and flexible premises which it owns in Telford Road Bicester, which has plenty of room for expansion.

Zeta’s area of expertise is developing electronic control systems. There are presently three market sectors in which Zeta operates; Automotive, where Zeta develops control systems for commercial vehicles such as road sweepers, Solar, where Zeta develops LED lighting products which are independently powered by Solar PV arrays, and LED where Zeta supplies LED Lighting systems, LED Signage, Energy Efficient lighting, LED fluorescent replacement tubes, LED display panels, Shop fitting light panels, Light boxes, POS lighting, Architectural lighting products and LED Lighting effects. Zeta is used to working closely with suppliers and customers to ensure that finish products exceed customer expectations

Zeta has a team of eight Research and Development engineers with electronic design and programming skills. All Zeta products incorporate a microprocessor, Zeta has accumulated a great deal of knowledge and programming skills over the past 18 years. Zeta also has a full production capability, from PCB assembly (although the bulk of this work is sub-contracted) through to detailed mechanical assembly and final test. Zeta has a fully equipped test facility, which allows all products to be thoroughly tested to the latest environmental and EMC standards and is ISO 9000/2000 approved. Zeta also has a team of support engineers to assist customers with installation and commissioning.

Zeta has won several awards for research and technology; no less than 5 DTI SMART awards recognise the innovation that lies central to its success, along with an award for being the Oxfordshire small business of the year.
